On Thursday, May 8, 2025, the HCO will curate the event titled “That sounds like music to my copyright” as part of Athens Music Week. The event will take place at the Karatzas Amphitheatre (82-84 Aeolou Street, Athens) from 15:00 to 18:00.
The event will focus on the relationship between music, copyright, and artificial intelligence, as experts from various fields will analyze the challenges and opportunities arising from the protection of musical works in the digital age.
The program will cover funding opportunities for music through European programs as well as legal issues, such as originality in music, album re-recording strategies for reclaiming rights, and the impact of rights acquisition practices on fair compensation for creators.
Additionally, discussions will center on the use of artificial intelligence in music creation, the complex aspects of copyright for AI-generated works, and the challenges of rights management for remixes and digital compositions.
The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion presenting “FAROS – the Greek ‘Artificial Intelligence Factory'”, where industry professionals will share their insights on the topic.
