The Committee for the Notification of Online Copyright and Related Rights Infringements (EDPPI) is a three-member administrative authority established in 2017 to provide rapid response to copyright violations on the internet.
When can you apply to EDPPI?
EDPPI examines applications, subject to a fee, when protected copyright or related rights are infringed online:
- Through illegal distribution of content on websites or platforms
- Through offering of products or services (advertising, promotion)
- In cases of live streaming of sports and cultural events
- For audiovisual works made available on demand
Who can submit an application?
Right holders, their successors, collective management organizations, as well as organizers of sports events (for the case of par. 10A of art. 66E Law 2121/1993).
EDPPI can issue decisions ordering the removal of illegal content or blocking access to it.
