The event organized by the Hellenic Copyright Organization as part of the 2026 European Cultural Heritage Days took place successfully on Friday, 18 September 2026, at the Monemvasia Tourist Pavilion, under the theme “Copyright and Cultural Heritage at Risk: Access, Protection and Revival in the Digital Age.” The event provided an opportunity to highlight the relationship between copyright and cultural heritage and to discuss the challenges and opportunities arising from digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence for the protection, management and access to cultural content.
On Friday, 11 September, an international conference entitled “Generative Traditions: Living Heritage and Artificial Intelligence. New Horizons – Exploring Cultural Possibilities” was held at the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum in Athens. The conference was organised by the Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate of Modern Cultural Heritage, in cooperation with the Secretariat of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, with the support of the Permanent Delegation of Greece to UNESCO.
The Hellenic Copyright Organization is once again organizing an event as part of the European Heritage Days 2026. The event, entitled “Copyright and Cultural Heritage at Risk: Access, Protection and Revival in the Digital Age”, will take place on September 18, 2026, in Monemvasia.

As part of the event, Maria G. Sinanidou, Lawyer, Scientific Associate, HCO, and Accredited Mediator, will take part in the panel discussion titled “Owning Your Work in the Age of Generative Media,” on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 12:15 to 13:00.

On 4 May 2026, the Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) and the University of Cyprus signed a Memorandum of Educational Cooperation in Nicosia, laying the foundations for the development of joint initiatives in the field of education and copyright. This initiative confirms the commitment of the cooperating institutions to strengthening collaboration between universities and institutional bodies, actively contributing to the development of a modern and dynamic framework for copyright.
