The HCO participated in the training of teachers that took place on 15.05.2024 in Heraklion, Crete. The training was organized in cooperation with the PEKES of Crete and the Industrial Property Organization (OBI) and was held in the framework of the EUIPO – IP in Education Network meeting.
The training targeted teachers from primary, secondary and tertiary education in order to promote creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and responsible digital participation among teachers and students of the above levels.
In the main part of the training, teachers heard detailed presentations on IP. The HCO covered copyright issues and presented material from the copyrightschool.gr website. The OBI presented on patents, trademarks, designs, geographical indications and plant variety rights.
EUIPO presented IP material that can be used by educators, including the IdeasPowered@School website and the IP Basic MOOC open online course. The programme concluded with a workshop aimed at helping teachers to promote IP concepts in their schools.
The event was attended by 30 teachers, mainly school counsellors and school principals of Heraklion Crete.
