WIPO Expands CLIP Initiative to Visual Arts

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has announced the expansion of its Creators Learn Intellectual Property (CLIP) initiative to include content tailored to visual artists.

Launched in 2023 with a focus on the music industry, CLIP aims to help creators understand their intellectual property rights and manage and leverage them effectively. The new content is designed for painters, sculptors, illustrators, photographers, muralists and other visual artists. It provides practical guidance on issues such as authorship, copyright protection, attribution, licensing, and the exhibition, dissemination and commercial exploitation of artistic works.

The free online resources available through the CLIP platform combine intellectual property information with insights from creators and professionals in the art sector.
