The EU recently launched two public consultations. The first concerns counterfeit products, as well as the piracy watchlist.
The purpose of this consultation is to identify providers of online services and physical markets, which are based outside the European Union and are reported to be involved in, facilitate or benefit from significant infringements of intellectual property rights and in particular from piracy and counterfeit products. The platform for submission of views will remain open until 15 August 2024.
The second public consultation concerns the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in third countries. The results are intended to help beneficiaries identify potential risks to their intellectual property when operating in these countries. The platform for submission of views will remain open until 6 September 2024.
