On May 23, 2024, the European Commission with Executive Decision 2024/1432 officially announced the aforementioned legal entity based in Brussels.
According to the statute, EDIC is expected to create and operate the European infrastructure for blockchain services with the aim of providing cross-border services at the level of the European Union, in particular public services.
In addition, it should support cross-border cooperation between public authorities in the field of decentralized technologies and facilitate the interoperability of solutions based on these decentralized technologies.
