Call for expression of interest for the renewal of the EU/UNESCO Expert Facility

UNESCO has launched a Call for Expressions of Interest for the renewal of the EU/UNESCO Expert Facility on the governance, monitoring and evaluation of policies for creativity.

This call represents the fourth cycle of the Expert Facility in the framework of the 2005 Convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions. The call aims to constitute a pool of experts that Parties to the 2005 Convention can solicit to further implementation of the Convention.

Members of the Expert Facility can be mobilized by the Secretariat on a country-level, through technical assistance programmes, but can also be requested to contribute to publications to advance knowledge on the implementation of the 2005 Convention.

In order to assist Parties to the Convention in the above-mentioned objectives, the Secretariat is looking for an expansion in expertise on the Convention’s main themes, such as the digital environment, gender equality, media diversity, trade, copyrights and artistic freedom. Moreover, a special attention will be given to expertise in the sub-sectors of the cultural and creative industries, such as publishing, the audio-visual sector, music sector and the performing arts, etc.

In addition to these themes related to the 2005 Convention, this expansion of the Expert Facility will also consist of a component on policy monitoring following the 2030 Culture Indicators methodology. In this way, UNESCO will be able to assist its Member States in all steps of the implementation of their policies for culture and creativity: from policy development to implementation, and monitoring and evaluation.

Interested candidates are invited to apply, no later than Sunday 23 April 2023, at midnight (Paris time).
