We have the pleasure to inform you that on Friday October 11th, 2019, a contract was signed between the Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), with subject matter the implementation of the European programme entitled “Educating youngsters and secondary school teachers about copyright in Greece and Cyprus”. The programme was selected for funding by the EUIPO following the submission of the HCO’s proposal under Lot “Reaching children and teachers/future teachers through educational activities in academic and non-academic learning environments”.
The programme is transnational (Greece and Cyprus), and will be implemented by the HCO (as the main partner) in cooperation with the Cypriot Media Group SIGMA LIVE LTD. The implementation period is one year. The actions of the programme will include the production of informative and educational material about copyright targeting youngsters and pupils of secondary education, the organization of educative seminars for teachers of secondary education in various cities of Greece and Cyprus and the design and launching of an awareness campaign about the importance of copyright protection through popular websites and social media (in Greece and Cyprus) and through radio stations (in Cyprus).
The material that will be produced in the framework of the programme and the actions that will be implemented will be published on the HCO’s website copyrightschool.gr, in a special section for secondary education pupils that will be created for this cause.
