House of Lords Calls on Government to Protect British Creators from Artificial Intelligence (AI)

On 6 March 2026, the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee published its report titled “AI, Copyright and the Creative Industries.” The report stresses that the government must protect the interests of British creators and strengthen the existing legal framework regarding AI and copyright.

Historic step against online piracy: Hellenic Copyright Organization achieves for the first time the removal of pirate sites from Google Search Results

The Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) announces a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to combat online piracy: the Committee for the Disclosure of Online Infringement of Copyright and Related Rights (EDPPI) has, for the first time in Greece, successfully removed 17 pirate websites from Google search results.

March 8, 2026 – International Women’s Day: Rights, Justice, Action

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, more than 80 intellectual property and innovation organizations from around the world have issued a joint message calling for stronger support for women’s participation in innovation and creativity, aligned with this year’s theme: “Rights, Justice, Action: For all women and girls.”

The initiative also includes the Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) alongside leading international institutions such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Online seminar by the HCO for the Directorate of Culture of the Municipality of Thessaloniki

On Wednesday, 4 March 2026, the HCO delivered an online training seminar for the staff of the Directorate of Culture and Tourism Development of the Municipality of Thessaloniki. The seminar addressed key copyright issues arising in the planning and implementation of cultural activities and events. During the session, the applicable legal framework, core concepts of copyright law, and practical aspects related to the use of literary and artistic works in the context of public cultural activities were presented.

The Hellenic Copyright Organization in Patras IQ 2026

The Hellenic Copyright Organization successfully participated in the 9th Innovation & Technology Transfer Exhibition – Patras IQ 2026, which took place on 27, 28 February and 1 March 2026 at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras. The exhibition, established in 2012, has become a leading institution for promoting research, innovation and the connection between academia, entrepreneurship and society.
