Educational Visits of the HCO to the 2nd Model Junior High School of Athens School Year 2025–2026

The Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO) completed six educational visits to the 2nd Model Junior High School of Athens for the 2025–2026 school year, following an invitation from the 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Stamatia Paschaliori.

These visits take place annually as part of the longstanding educational collaboration between the HCO and the school. This year’s visits were held on 28 and 29 January, as well as on 2 February 2026, with the participation of students from all Grade 3 classes.

During the visits, Ms. Maria G. Sinanidou, Lawyer and Scientific Associate of the HCO, presented the basic principles of copyright law to the students, with particular emphasis on the exceptions and limitations applicable for educational purposes. Practical examples of lawful use of online content and reliable online content sources were also presented.

Student participation was particularly active, with questions and discussions focusing on:

  • the protection of works,
  • the criteria of originality and the distinction between ideas and protected works,
  • artificial intelligence and its relationship with copyright,
  • exceptions and limitations to copyright,
  • issues of piracy and unlawful use of content online,
  • as well as the adaptation right and its limits.
