AI Act – Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2024 laying down harmonized rules on artificial intelligence and amending Regulations (EC) No 300/2008, (EU) No 167/2013, (EU) No 168/2013, (EU) 2018/858, (EU) 2018/1139 and (EU) 2019/2144 and Directives 2014/90/EU, (EU) 2016/797 and (EU) 2020/1828

Today, July 12, 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Regulation (AI ACT) was published in the EU Official Journal. The purpose of this Regulation is to improve the functioning of the internal market by establishing a single legal framework, in particular for the development, making available on the market, putting into operation and use of artificial intelligence (AI) systems within the Union, in a manner consistent with values ​​of the Union, to promote the adoption of human-centred and trustworthy AI, while ensuring a high level of protection of health, safety and fundamental rights, as enshrined in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, including democracy, the rule of law and protection of the environment, to provide protection against the harmful effects of IT systems in the Union and to support innovation.
