The Orphan Works database provides public access to information about orphan works that are contained in the collections of publicly accessible libraries, educational establishments and museums, as well as archives, film or audio heritage institutions and public-service broadcasting organisations established in the Member States.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Hellenic Copyright Organization in light of the Hellenic Presidency of the EU are organizing an international conference with the title “Copyright and the Digital Agenda for Europe: Current Regulations and Challenges for the Future”.
EU signs Marrakesh Treaty
The European Union signed today in Geneva the Marrakesh Treaty. The Treaty will facilitate access to published works for persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled. It had been negotiated in the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Negotiations concluded on 28 June 2013 in Marrakesh. Since then fifty-one states have signed the Treaty, including four EU Member States.
World Intellectual Property Day
Each year, on the 26th of April the Intellectual Property day is celebrated with regard to promoting the dialogue about the role of intellectual property in the development of innovation and creativity.
The European Parliament published a Report on private copying levies (2013/2114(INI)) by the Committee on Legal Affairs on its website.

UNESCO, the Hellenic Ministry for Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports and the Hellenic Copyright Organization are organizing an International Conference on “National Policies of Partnership on Copyright Enforcement on the Internet from Rightholders and Internet Service Providers”. The Conference will take place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September 2012 at the New Acropolis Museum (Athens, Greece).
