European Commission: Public Consultation for the New Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List

The European Commission has launched a new public consultation for the preparation of the Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List 2027.

The purpose of the consultation is to gather information on online services and physical marketplaces located outside the European Union that are allegedly involved in, facilitate, or benefit from serious infringements of intellectual property rights, particularly through piracy and the counterfeiting of products. At the same time, online service providers are invited to present the measures they have taken to prevent or reduce infringements occurring through their services.

The new edition of the Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List is expected to be published in the second quarter of 2027 and will include online services and physical marketplaces that, based on the information collected, present the most significant challenges regarding the protection of intellectual property rights.

The public consultation is open to all interested stakeholders, including intellectual property rights holders, businesses, professional associations, online service providers, public authorities, and any other parties with relevant information or experience in combating counterfeiting and piracy.

Interested parties may submit their comments until 11 September 2026 here.
