The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have jointly launched a study which quantifies the value, scope and magnitude of global trade in counterfeit goods.

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), published a study with the subject “Comparative case study on alternative resolution systems for domain name disputes”.

The HCO’s educational programme “Copyright and Related Rights” received the approval of the Ministry of Education for the current school year. The programme is addressed to pupils of Elementary Schools for the school year 2018-2019.

The first three decisions of the Committee for the Notification of Copyright and Related Rights Infringement on the Internet were issued, following the application submitted by a Collective Protection Organization for audiovisual works. The decisions have been published in the website of the Hellenic Copyright Organization and sent to internet service providers with a request to comply.

The President of the Committee for the Notification of Copyright and Related Rights Infringement on the Internet announces that as of Monday 3 September 2018 the Committee shall commence its operations and shall accept all applications for protection from Copyright and Related Rights Infringement on the Internet.

The Hellenic Copyright Organization and Google (with the participation of the University of Nicosia and the International Hellenic University) organize a conference with the title «Copyright Infringement on the internet: Developments in Greece and the European Union».

Directive (EU) 2017/1564 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 September 2017 on certain permitted uses of certain works and other subject matter protected by copyright and related rights for the benefit of persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print- disabled and amending Directive 2001/29/EC on the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society was published in the Official Journal of the European Union (EU l 242/6/20-9-2017).

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) intents to gather information from all stakeholders on the issue of Orphan Works. To that end, it calls all interested parties to answer the “Orphan Works Survey 2017”.

On Monday, April 10 2017, the HCO participated in the 2^nd Conference on Experiential Education that was organized by Politistiko Parko at the Lycabettus Multicultural Center in Athens.
