Ministry of Culture: Memorandum of Cooperation with NTUA on Digital Culture and Artificial Intelligence

A new Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Ministry of Culture and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), strengthening their strategic partnership in the fields of digital culture and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Within the framework of this collaboration, efforts will focus on transforming the digital cultural heritage into “smart” knowledge bases, which will feed advanced AI models, providing new tools for the management, documentation, and promotion of cultural heritage.

Special emphasis is placed on the development of innovative applications, such as systems based on RAG architectures and large multimodal models, which will support decision-making and the analysis of cultural data, as well as the creation of digital applications for monuments and collections.

At the same time, the importance of intellectual property protection is highlighted, ensuring the legal and secure use of cultural content in the digital environment.

The three-year Memorandum continues the cooperation between the two institutions since 2020 and confirms the role of AI in the modern transformation of the cultural sector.
