Webinar on “Copyright Law and Artificial Intelligence – AIPPI International Resolution”

The Hellenic Copyright Organization, under the auspices of the Greek section of AIPPI, successfully held an online event on Friday, November 28, 2025, entitled “Copyright Law and Artificial Intelligence – AIPPI International Resolution.”

The keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann, LL.M. (Cambridge), specialized attorney for copyright, media law, and industrial property in Germany, Honorary Professor at Humboldt University of Berlin, and President of the Plenary Session at the AIPPI World Congress 2025.

Prof. Dr. Nordemann presented in detail the AIPPI Resolution, which was adopted in Yokohama in September 2025, and examined critical aspects related to artificial intelligence and copyright. The resolution focuses both on the use of copyrighted works for training artificial intelligence systems and on the legal implications of AI-generated outputs. He also correlated it with the relevant EU legal framework and referenced the recently issued first-instance decision of the Regional Court of Munich in GEMA v. OpenAI.

The presentation was conducted in english via the ZOOM platform, with participation from numerous interested parties, and provided clear information on contemporary international developments in the field of copyright.

HCO warmly thanks all participants for their active presence and interest, as well as Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann for his exceptionally substantive contribution to the discussion of a topic at the core of current international developments.
