The third edition of the IP Youth Scoreboard provides an update on the bahaviours of young people aged 15 to 24 across the European Union regarding IPR infringement.

The survey examines the two aspects of IP infringement: young people's trends in buying counterfeit goods and accessing pirated content, assessing trends every three years since 2016.

According to the Scoreboard:

  • More than half (52 %) of Europeans surveyed aged between 15 and 24 said they had bought at least one fake product online over the past year, both intentionally or by accident, and a third (33 %) said they had accessed digital content from illegal sources.
  • In Greece, 62 % of young people bought a fake intentionally, which is the highest percentage in the EU, and 25 % knowingly accessed pirated content.
