The Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO), in collaboration with the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) and the collective management organizations for musical works in Greece — “AUTODIAXEIRISI,” “ENOSI DIKAIOUCHON EDEM,” “APOLLON,” “ERATO,” “GRAMMO,” and “GEA – GRAMMO, ERATO, APOLLON” — celebrates this year’s World Intellectual Property Day, established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), with a special event dedicated to music creation and its ecosystem.

This year, World Intellectual Property Day celebrates music, which is much more than just sounds and melodies. It is culture, identity, and expression. Behind every song, there are creators – composers, lyricists, performers, producers – who deserve respect, recognition, and protection for their work. Intellectual property ensures that they can make a living from their art and continue to inspire.
IMPF welcomed its members to Athens for the 2025 General Assembly and Conference, held on April 3 and 4. The event brought together independent music publishers from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, with IMPF President Annette Barrett opening the proceedings.
On Monday 8 April 2025, the HCO participated for the third time in a training workshop for teachers organized by the Department of Primary Education of Athens (5th Place) that took place at the 5th Primary School of Galatsi.
On April 4, 2025, an educational visit took place at the offices of HCO, involving professors and Ph. D candidates from the Law School of Stockholm University. The visit was organized at the request of Ms. Frantzeska Papadopoulou, Professor of Private Law at Stockholm University.
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, the HCO participated for the second time in a training workshop for teachers organized by the Department of Primary Education of Athens (5th Place) that took place at the 1st Primary School of Galatsi.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and the Hellenic Copyright Organization (HCO). The Memorandum was signed at the offices of the Rectorate of Panteion University in a cordial atmosphere.
As part of the International Conference for the 30th Anniversary of the Organization for Intellectual Property (OPI), held on March 7, Ms. Sylvie Forbin, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), visited Athens as a speaker at the conference.
